Holy procrastination, batman!
I shot promotional photos for Chicago burlesque troupe Vaudezilla in September, but I’m just now getting around to putting them up here. Every year we get new headshots, but this was the first year I’ve been comfortable shooting them myself.
One of the fun bonus images I was asked to shoot, in addition to headshots, was one of our gals popping out of the giant cake prop we sometimes take to gigs. Titty Perkins was perfect for this task!
This one’s kind of a cheater image. While it was definitely shot, art-directed, and edited by “Singing Raven Photography”, it was actually physically shot by my second shooter, i.e. my long-suffering boyfriend, Kenneth. I don’t have the patience to set up self-portraits, but fortunately for me, Kenneth is a comfortable photographer, and happy to let me art-direct when it comes to images of myself.
We only covered about half the troupe in this particular shoot, and I expect to be back at it in November for a second session to finish up the rest of the troupe!
I’m going to start this here blog (aside from my “welcome to my blog” post… I guess.) by working through the massive backlog of work that I have saved in wholesale jerseys my life. See, I had a blog over on my old website, but, like that iteration of the site, the blog was… bad. I always felt like I sounded like an idiot, which made no sense because I spend FAR too much time writing things for cheap NFL jerseys the internet to sound like an idiot talking to the internet.
The first shoot I’m choosing to share with you all here is one I did for Mia D. Vine and Ms. Mister Junior, who, at the time, were both members of the Chicago burlesque troupe Vaudezilla. Mia is now an independent performer and model. This shoot happened in the spring of 2014, a year in which I made very little work, due to my decision to commit My to doing one thing extremely well before adding other things back into my life.
In any case, we shot on what was maybe the las first warm day of spring, a sun-drenched day in April, on the balcony of a downtown high-rise. It was the apartment of a friend of Mia’s, one of the first times I was given a location to work with that was neither Vaudezilla’s wholesale NFL jerseys studio space (a venue with which you will quickly become Rollenb?cke familiar.) nor a random street that to I had scouted myself.
The photos came from the midwest, but, like Mia, felt like the West Coast personified, with wholesale NBA jerseys golden sunlight and endless blue skies. Not bad work for an April Gaziantep day and a balcony that was maybe 2 and a half feet wide by six feet long.
Both of these two are phenomenal models to work with, inventive, dynamic, and self-sufficient. It’s no wonder I’m using them as the face of my site, right?
Hey everyone! Welcome to the new Singing Raven Photography! It’s been a bit of a hike getting Longue to this point, what with the numerous computer and internet issues that have been cheap jerseys plaguing me lately, but I think I’m finally nearly finished formatting in everything and getting the hang of cheap nba jerseys WordPress. (maybe. we’ll see.)
For the sake of wholesale jerseys China having some content here, I’d like to recap one of my absolute favorite shoots. In the spring of 2014, I got to do a wonderful shoot with Mia D. Vine and Mister Junior in a beautiful downtown Chicago location. The shoot was a concept shoot for their burlesque duet, #ME, and I love the sun-drenched summery quality to the final images.
The shoot could have happened in sunny southern California instead cheap mlb jerseys of April in Chicago. I didn’t accomplish much, photographically speaking, in 2014. I shot a lot of live performances, but very little else. Yet this session was a very powerful wholesale jerseys reminder of the kind of images I like to produce, the kind of images Hard I want to produce. Dynamic, stylish, stylized.
What can I do for you?
