Live Performance

…And now for something completely different.

I have an extensive background in live theatre, going back over 20 years.  I have been a professional stage manager, a burlesque performer/fan dancer, and a very occasional actor in addition to a number of back-of-house/arts administration roles.  So, naturally, for many of the companies I’ve worked with over the years, when someone needed a photographer and I wasn’t onstage, I grabbed my camera and got down to it.

I shot my first burlesque show in Memphis, Tennessee in 2013.  I began photographing bands not long after that.  A friend’s partner was the bassist for David Paige and the Skyline and I remember riding back from the suburbs in the back of their van in the middle of the night after shows, falling asleep against the windows.

I don’t get to work as many shows as I’d like to, given the fact that, at one point, I was onstage multiple times a week myself, but it’s still a body of work I’m very proud of, and one I still enjoy adding to.
